MARTA Doraville Station

I’m working on MARTA guides for every station. This will include sustainable, frugal, vegan things 2 do near by (both places I’ve been to & verified slaying and places I haven’t been to) and anything notable about the station itself. Doraville MARTA station, at the very tip of the Gold line, is my first entry!

Notable destinations I’ve been to (walk/bike/transit accessible) (in order of distance)

Super HMART Doraville Super HMART Doraville (0:22 walk) (0:11 bike) – they sell the mega packs of tofu here

Buford Highway ‘Farmers Market’ Buford Highway “Farmers Market” (0:15 walk) (0:04 bike) – BHFM is fire even tho they don’t rlly sell local stuff (they are not a real farmers’ market. it’s a massive indoor ethnic market). notable items are housemade tofu, housemade soy milk w nothin except soy, housemade VEGAN kimchi and the best, most authentic vegan kimchi I’ve had, various vegan hispanic-influence pastries like mega croissants, and pretty much any hispanic/asian product you could want

Interesting destinations I’ve yet to visit (walk/bike/transit accessible) (in order of distance)

Happy Karaoke Happy Karaoke (0:07 walk) (0:04 bike)

Mics Karaoke Mics Karaoke (0:20 walk) (0:11 bike) – TEMP CLOSED (listed on google due to reopen on 6/30. due to not having their liquor license previously lmao). boujee private karaoke joint w the prices to match. bottle service only

Station notes

Transit time from Lindbergh Station:
Transit time from Five Points Station:

Welcome to the Doraville MARTA station! This area is pretty hella car-centric. This is Gwinnett County car-land. For perspective, this station has 3 parking lots including a big ol’ parking deck. The station itself is on a local road and the City has just started improving the sidewalk immediately surrounding the station (separate bike lane & pedestrian lane on the curb, protected by street parking). But, when I say immediate, I mean immediate. 0:05 walk down the sidewalk is your typical skinny-ass suburban sidewalk next to a 4 lane road with oil tankers running down it all the time (there’s several oil storage/drop off type thingies on this road).

The station is right next to several railroad tracks and there be trains there sometimes so that’s cool. Pretty nice view of them.

There’s an ugly ass development on the north side of the station (see photo). Like totally clear cut bulldozed massive dystopian looking thing. It’s a film set being constructed apparently. It’s interesting to look at the building facades to give you the false hope of TOD happening here. I think they do have plans of incorporating mixed-use but we’ll see how that pans out. Sigh… that barren “development” makes me depressed tho.

*If you’re coming from MARTA and have a Breeze Card, you get free transfers to Gwinnett County Transit. Their buses are pretty nice in comparison to MARTA buses. Fly lookin aesthetic imo.
You should load up on Gwinnett Transit fare at the station tho bc you’ll need it for the trip back. Same as MARTA, regular fare is $2.50. If you don’t have a Breeze Card, same as taking MARTA buses, you’re screwed for free transfers so get a Breeze Card lawl.

*Commuter route 10a/10b does not run on Sundays.
