sofuvisits: Atlanta Chinatown!!

Woooohooooo!! My frugal, sustainability conscious, vegan friends, you are in for a treat!!

Alrighty… so to placate your expectations first, Atlanta Chinatown is indeed just a simple strip mall. It’s also not in the perimeter lmao. Really fits with Atlanta’s character…

But! Do not fear!! For it is… MARTA ACCESSIBLE!!! Hurray!!!! Alrighty. Now that you’re expectations are accurately expecting…

*insert Atl Chinatown pic lolz

Getting there: Take the Gold rail line all the way to Chamblee (takes about 20 minutes from Midtown station). Exit left out of the bus loading zone and walk for like 10 min. The road is small and the sidewalk is new so it’s a decent walk despite little shade and a barren landscape. T’will be a plaza on your right. Hard to miss.

Food:

Family Baking (Rolls Village Chamblee):

Notes: bring reusable utensils if planning on eating cake cups. bring own bag if planning on buying a lot of pastry breads (they freeze well sooo)

a bakery that makes a bunch of vegan Asian pastry breads!!! The only one of it’s kind that I’ve heard of. Must-trys are the bolo bun, butter cream bun, and pork floss bun. They also do taro bun, red bean bun, taro or red bean with mochi bun, and sometimes others!! And everything is like $2. Amazing … They also have vegan Asian-style cake cups that are sooooo good. You know the asian style fruit flavored cakes I’m talking about that are buttery and not too sweet. They do custom vegan Asian style cakes as well. I avoid the chocolate stuff cuz I don’t think they use fairtrade.

Food Court:

Dinho Market of Atlanta:
