You need:
miso paste (red or white or red & white)
small handful dried seaweed (you will not expect it to grow so much. use a little bcuz u can add more later)
salt
silken tofu (optional. but it’s good)
Supplies: a bowl, a spoon, heat source (microwave or stove or water kettle)
Instructions
Boil water (bowl in microwave, stove or water kettle)
Add in all ingredients & water to bowl. Wait 2 minutes. You can microwave for good measure if you want
Revel in miso soup
As you can see, you can make any serving miso soup as you like just by adding more or less ingredients to your hearts desire. And it takes the amount of time it takes for your water to boil so like 5 minutes max even with a weak microwave.
Notes
- Finding miso paste: Kroger has it. also any asian grocery store such as HMart
- Finding dried seaweed: Any kind but not nori or “roasted seaweed”. any asian grocery store will stock. Whole Foods also sells a boujee kombu you can use and it’ll still be cheaper to buy than ordering miso soup out.
- Please comment if you are unfamiliar with these ingredients! I consider these staples and can share a bunch of other recipes you can use them in. Dried seaweed is shelf stable, so easy to prepare, sustainable and really good for you. Miso soup is also somewhat shelf stable but it lasts a lot longer in the fridge. It’s fermented so you already know it’s gonna be good.
