Jack & Annie’s “Crispy Jack Tenders”: 4/5 nice!

food rating details here

yumminess4/5 it tastes good! but not outstanding

non-vegan similarity: 4/5 can’t tell difference / you can fool most ppl

price: $4 at Sprouts (Piedmont Ave)

yummy! better than expected! Jack & Annie’s whole thing is that their first ingredient is always jack fruit which is pretty cool.

Since chik’n tenders are super processed though, I was worried these would be too “planty.” But they’re actually very tasty with a good chik’ny texture! I’d say they’re pretty close to the real thing and most would be fooled! (I didn’t have a non-vegan on hand to try tho)

good price too. $4 for a 9oz box which has 7 good sized tenders in it. basically enough for one meal. (the serving sizes on the box are really wierd. no way 2 tenders = 1 serving size lol…)

Ethics Notes: Jack & Annie’s is a fully vegan company. According to their website, they support small farmers in India who use sustainable farming practices but no particular certifications or specific claims on paying the farmers well.
Jackfruit itself is also a sustainable high-yield crop.

They come in a plastic bag inside of a cardboard box.

Our Prep: Followed box instructions and bake at 460 F for 0:15.
