Annie’s “Gluten Free Vegan Mac – Rice Pasta & Cheddar Flavor”: 3/5 ehhh

food rating details here

yumminess3/5 it is not bad but it is also not good

non-vegan similarity: 3/5 most ppl can tell it’s a vegan alt

price: $4 at Sprouts

hmmm okay so maybe my review is slightly biased bc we followed the instructions but it came out slightly undercooked at first. and then I cooked it some more and accidentally overcooked it…

so maybe the slightly mushy texture of mine is throwing me off but this one is meh. it definitely has a remnant of the vegan chz barf smell/taste altho not that bad hence the 3/5 yumminess. the rice noodles are a pretty good texture. all in all, it’s just fine. I’ll probably buy it to try it one more time & see if this review is accurate.

we also reviewed the wheat version of this. even though they’re sold as the same size, the wheat one grew a lot more while cooking than the gf one and was prob 150% in volume when we served them. also this GF one needed more cook time & had a bit of that vegan chz barfy smell/taste to it. the wheat one is def better imo. also the GF one has bigger size noodles than the wheat one. the wheat one has standard Kraft mac noodles.

Ethics Notes: USDA Organic. idk much about Annie’s as a company.

Our Prep: Comes with dry noodles & sauce powder packet in a box. I kindaaa followed instructions. Boiled for 0:07 in salty water, drained & left some water, added in chz powder & some soy milk, mixed & then cooked for another minute. Took it all out, tried it, and realized it was undercooked. Put it all back in with more soy milk and cooked for another like 0:03 and then it was overcooked. Alas
